I have been running Watkykjy.co.za for 10 years – one of South Africa’s most well known Afrikaans websites. It started as a hobby and about a year ago I started to experiment with various things to start making money on the internet to cover the costs of the site. We are not talking big money, simply to cover the hosting, monthly expenses and the odd development costs. There are not a lot of affiliate marketing programs available out there mostly because the concept is still relatively new in South Africa and that businesses are too ignorant to realise that blogs and websites can generate money for them by simply sharing a small percentage of the profit.

In less than 10 days (end of December 2009 when I joined) I have managed to earn just over R900 with the program. This was done by simply adding one of their pre-designed banners with my affiliate code on my webstie. Bloggers in South Africa are not earning a lot of money yet, but this is a good start and the longer you wait the more sales you stand to lose.

The Watkykjy GPS voice is selling very well and new voices are added to the product list on a regular interval which keeps the program very interesting and the opportunity to maintain consistent affiliate sales very good.
