Bio

Barry Hilton is South Africa’s favourite "Cousin" and one of the most easily recognisable comedians on the county’s comedy circuit. He became a household name when he landed the choice role of the bartender in the immensely popular series of Savanna Dry cider adverts on TV; a role which he has moulded into his very own.

His deadpan delivery and ability to find humour in every day life has led to sell-out performances across South Africa. His brand of humour crosses racial, cultural, age and gender divides and because he keeps it clean and above the belt his shows appeals to everyone, from tiny tots to grannies and grandpas.

Barry is not just a South African icon; he has won over audiences all around the world with his stand-up comedy acts. For instance, he was the first South African comedian to perform at The Comedy Store, one of London’s most prestigious comedy clubs. 

In addition to his stand-up comedy, Barry performs at a number of corporate functions and events and has even found the time to create the "Laughter Factory", which is corporate motivational concept designed to make workplaces happier (and funnier), and teach business professionals to tap into their innate gift of humour and use it as a life skill.

Most of Barry’s shows are ad lib, he doesn’t believe in set routines. As he says, he loves talking nonsense, but that doesn’t mean he’ll lead you on a merry chase as you navigate your way around towns, cities and highways and byways.
