Garmin is pleased to announce the new large screen Garmin Nuvi 1410 GPS navigator which features an ultra-slim design with diagonal display, enhanced user interface, Garmin ecoRoute petrol-saver and text-to-speech (TTS).
With an easy-to-use touchscreen display, the Nuvi’s enhanced user interface boasts improved graphics and new touch-and-slide menu operation. Garmin ecoRoute suggests fuel-efficient routes to save drivers petrol and money as the GPS navigator routes to addresses, restaurants, hotels and more with spoken turn-by-turn directions, even announcing upcoming road names on your route. The Nuvi 1410 will be compatible with the SA traffic service when launched (additional hardware & subscription purchase required).

Features: The large screen Nuvi 1410 offers multiple-point routing, hands-free calling and ecoRoute. This ultra-thin GPS navigator announces streets by name and calculates a more fuel-efficient route with ecoRoute.
Plan ahead: The Nuvi 1410 includes advanced navigation features to take the worry out of travelling. With route planning you can save 10 routes, specify via points and preview simulated turns onthe large screen. In addition, the device automatically sorts multiple destinations to provide an efficient route for errands, deliveries or sales calls. A trip log provides an electronic bread crumb trail of up to 10 000 points, so you can see where you’ve been on the map.
Get turn-by- turn directions: The Nuvi 1410’s intuitive interface greets you with two simple questions: "Where To?" and "View Map". Touch the colour screen to easily look up addresses and/or services and get voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions that speak street names to your destination. The GPS navigator comes preloaded with Garmap Southern Africa Streetmaps - TMC and thousands of points of interest (POI’s). Its Digital Elevation Model (DEM) maps show you shaded contours at higher zoom levels, giving you a big picture of surrounding terrain. With the Nuvi’s enhanced user interface, you can side your finger to conveniently scroll between screens. With HotFix satellite prediction, the Nuvi 1410 calculates your position faster to get you there quicker.
Go beyond navigation: The Nuvi 1410 saves you petrol and money with ecoRoute, a green feature that calculates the most fuel-efficient route and tracks petrol usage. The Nuvi includes many travel tools including JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter and calculator. With photo navigation, you can download pictures from Garmin Connect Photos and let Nuvi guide you straight to the scene without needing the destination address. Also featured is the popular "Where Am I?" emergency locator, which allows you to know your location by simply tapping the vehicle icon on the screen, to get your exact longitude and latitude coordinates, the nearest address & intersection and the closest hospitals, police and petrol stations. The Nuvi 1410 features Garmin Lock, and anti-theft feature and is also compatible with our free Garmin Garage where you can download custom voices and vechicles. Also included to enhance your travel experience is an optional plug-in microSD card slot which can be used for additional data such as photographs.
